Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. About The Role
We're seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior AI Developer to join our expanding team at Intact Financial. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge AI and machine learning initiatives that drive our business forward. As a key member of our technology team, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and optimizing AI solutions that enhance our operational capabilities and customer experience.
What You'll Do Here
- Evolve the MLOps platform to improve the business' operational processes, ensuring robustness, performance, scalability, reliability, and observability.
- Own end-to-end delivery of software products ranging from workflow orchestrator, APIs/services to front end UI.
- Work closely with data scientists and analysts to ensure AI solutions are effectively addressing business needs by leveraging high-quality data and aligning with strategic goals.
- Ensure seamless integration of AI-driven solutions with existing insurance operations systems, coordinating with IT and operations teams to align on technical requirements and deployment strategies.
- Stay up to date with advancements in AI and machine learning technologies, applying new techniques and methodologies to enhance the capabilities and efficiency of deployed solutions, while also contributing to the team's knowledge base.
- Use CI/CD tools and agile methodology to ensure fast and reliable delivery of features and updates.
- Play a technical leadership and mentorship role within the team, influencing the technical roadmap and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience and education.
- Minimum of 6 years of significant development experience, demonstrating a strong technical background.
- Proficiency in Python with extensive experience; familiarity with Angular/React is considered an asset.
- Hands-on experience with Cloud Infrastructure, preferably AWS, along with containers, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex business problems into effective technical solutions; proactive, collaborative, and adaptable team player.
- Experience with automated testing for backend and UI components, along with familiarity with observability practices and tools.
- Strong understanding of Generative AI building blocks including prompting techniques, agentic frameworks, evals, guardrails, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings/vector databases, model fine-tuning, graph databases with large language models (LLMs), reasoning models, and Multi-Channel Processing (MCP).
- Solid data engineering skills, with hands-on experience with Databricks technologies such as Unity Catalog and Delta Lake considered an asset.
- Proficiency in AI-assisted coding tools and best practices for MLOps.
- For candidates in Quebec, bilingualism in French and English is required due to collaboration with diverse teams across Canada.
- No Canadian work experience required; candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
