About The Role
We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Developer / Programmer to join the SimpleK development team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining our web-based application that simplifies the management of physical keys and master key systems. Using Microsoft technologies such as C#, Blazor, .NET, Entity Framework Core, and Microsoft SQL Server, you will translate customer needs into innovative, reliable, and user-friendly features. You will work closely with stakeholders, including business analysts, developers, and end-users, throughout the software development lifecycle. Your contributions will directly impact the ongoing evolution of SimpleK’s software offerings, ensuring they meet high standards of quality, security, and performance.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a college or university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, complemented by practical experience in web application development. A minimum of three years of professional experience in developing and maintaining web applications is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate strong proficiency in C#, .NET, Blazor Server, Entity Framework Core, Microsoft SQL Server, SQL, and Git. A solid understanding of web application architecture, RESTful APIs, object-oriented design, and common software design patterns is essential. Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills are required, along with the ability to communicate effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. Fluency in English and French, both written and spoken, is necessary. The role may require occasional travel within Canada and the United States.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain SimpleK web application features utilizing C#, .NET, and Blazor Server frameworks.
- Translate complex business and customer requirements into clear, maintainable technical solutions that align with project goals.
- Create responsive, accessible, and intuitive user interfaces to enhance user experience.
- Build and maintain robust data-access components leveraging Entity Framework Core and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and other service-oriented components necessary for application functionality.
- Write clean, secure, and well-documented code following team standards and best practices.
- Participate in peer code reviews, contribute to continuous process improvements, and ensure code quality.
- Troubleshoot defects, conduct root cause analysis, and implement effective fixes to ensure application stability.
- Utilize Git and Azure DevOps for source control, work item tracking, build automation, and deployment processes.
- Create comprehensive technical documentation for application components and development workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including deployment, support, and product stakeholders throughout the software lifecycle.
- Engage in solution design, effort estimation, planning, demonstrations, and retrospectives to support project success.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices, recommending practical improvements to the application and development processes.
