As a member of AFSC’s architecture practice, the Senior Solution Architect (Data & Analytics) is responsible for designing, governing, and enabling end-to-end data and analytics architecture across AFSC. This includes architecture ownership of data integration, data accumulation, and data consumption capabilities within the enterprise data platform such as Microsoft Fabric.
This role ensures that data is treated as a strategic asset, enabling trusted, consistent, reusable and discoverable data products that support corporate reporting, analytics, and decision-making. The architect defines and enforces architecture patterns across the full data lifecycle from ingestion and transformation to semantic modeling and consumption.
Operating within AFSC's Enterprise Information Management (EIM), Data & Analytics Architecture, and Governance frameworks, this role bridges business needs, information assets, data platforms, and enterprise systems to support trusted information, analytics, and decision-making capabilities.
This role plays a key leadership role in advancing AFSC's data-driven decision-making capabilities by enabling trusted information, enterprise reporting, analytics, and reusable data products across the organization.

- Provide strategic leadership in Data & Analytics, influencing enterprise data governance, data quality, reporting, analytics, and information management practices to improve decision-making and business outcomes.
- Lead enterprise-wide transformation initiatives, partnering with senior business and technology leaders to establish future-state capabilities and drive organizational change.
What will you be responsible for?
- Lead the design and evolution of AFSC's enterprise data, analytics, and information architecture to support trusted, scalable, reusable, and discoverable information assets.
- Lead the architecture and adoption of AFSC's Microsoft Fabric-based data and analytics platform.
- Define and enable trusted, reusable, and discoverable enterprise data products that support reporting, analytics, and enterprise decision-making.
- Partner with Data Owners, Data Stewards, Information Custodians, business leaders, and technology teams to strengthen data governance and information management practices.
- Design analytics-ready data solutions that support corporate reporting, business intelligence, pricing analysis, actuarial analysis, and future AI-driven capabilities
- Lead the design and delivery of end-to-end enterprise and solution architectures across business, data, application, and technology domains, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and strategic objectives.
- Define and govern enterprise data architecture, including data models, data flows, information lifecycle management, and master/reference data strategies.
- Design and standardize scalable, secure, and governed data integration solutions, including APIs, pipelines, real-time data streams, and interoperability standards.
- Establish and govern Microsoft Fabric platform architecture, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Factory, data warehousing, real-time analytics, semantic models, and Power BI capabilities.
- Architect and manage enterprise data accumulation and storage solutions, ensuring effective metadata management, data lineage, discoverability, traceability, and long-term analytical reuse.
- Enable enterprise analytics and reporting by designing trusted data products, semantic models, KPIs, datasets, and self-service analytics capabilities that support decision-making and future AI initiatives.
- Operationalize data governance, quality, security, privacy, and compliance requirements through architecture standards, stewardship practices, monitoring controls, and accountability frameworks.
- Establish enterprise-wide data standards, reusable architecture patterns, and governance controls that promote consistency, reduce duplication, and support a single source of truth for reporting and analytics.
- Ensure alignment between data, application, and integration architectures while supporting seamless data exchange across enterprise systems and business processes.
- Develop future-state data and analytics strategies, provide architectural oversight for project delivery, evaluate emerging technologies, and guide teams through implementation, compliance, and complex design decisions.
What are we looking for from you?
- Deep experience in enterprise data architecture, including data integration, data governance, analytics, and reporting solutions.
- Proven experience designing trusted, reusable, and discoverable data products and enterprise data solutions.
- Experience designing and implementing modern cloud-based data and analytics platforms, preferably Microsoft Fabric and the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
- Strong understanding of Enterprise Information Management concepts and experience supporting enterprise reporting, business intelligence, pricing, actuarial, analytics, and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
- Extensive expertise in solution architecture across data, integration, and application domains, with the ability to design scalable, enterprise-level technology solutions.
- Strong knowledge of data architecture principles, including data modeling, data integration, data warehousing, and lakehouse architectures.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Data Factory, OneLake, Lakehouse and Warehouse architectures, Power BI, semantic modeling, and platform governance.
- Proven experience implementing and managing medallion architecture frameworks, including data governance, dataset reuse, workspace management, and capacity optimization.
- Strong understanding of data integration technologies and patterns, including ETL/ELT, streaming architectures, APIs, messaging, and orchestration solutions.
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata management, business intelligence, reporting architectures, and analytics design best practices.
- Strong systems-thinking skills with experience designing solutions across complex, integrated enterprise environments and ensuring interoperability between platforms.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into effective architectural solutions and influence decisions across cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with experience resolving complex architectural challenges while balancing immediate delivery needs with long-term strategic objectives.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in IT, including Solution Architecture, Data Architecture, and Enterprise data platforms
- Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise data and analytics solutions
- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (Microsoft Fabric / Azure ecosystem preferred)
- Experience in large, complex, multi-system environments
