He will have to participate in the establishment, improvement and maintenance of the preventive maintenance program and the structure of the department. Agropur is looking for a Maintenance Planner to join its team in St-Hyacinthe.
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning and coordinating the execution of the plant’s scheduled maintenance activities. The role oversees the management of on-site contractors and contributes to achieving performance objectives related to Health & Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Employee Engagement, and Environment within a collaborative work culture.
The Maintenance Planner is also responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) by integrating preventive and predictive maintenance best practices. The position works closely with Maintenance Supervisors, the GOP Supervisor, Electromechanics Technicians, contractors, and coordinators from other departments to ensure efficient

More specifically, the Maintenance Planner will be responsible for:
- Planning and organizing maintenance work to ensure tasks are carried out efficiently and in compliance with quality, health, and safety standards.
- Planning the resources required to execute scheduled maintenance activities within the plant.
- Analyzing and monitoring equipment maintenance history, and validating the root causes of variances using reliability best practices.
- Communicating issues and solutions to various stakeholders.
- Producing and maintaining maintenance performance indicators and documentation.
- Participating, as needed, in failure analyses and operational improvement initiatives.
- Developing and maintaining planning, scheduling, parts preparation (kitting), 5S, and other related processes.
- Implementing the Operational Excellence program (AOS) within the maintenance department and ensuring continuous improvement practices are followed.
- Managing maintenance priorities based on operational requirements and budget adjustments.
- Overseeing the maintenance procurement process.
- Supervising purchase order issuance, inventory management, order processing, invoice tracking, and supplier follow-up.
- Ensuring the availability of parts required for preventive maintenance and any resulting corrective maintenance activities.
- Welcoming and coordinating contractors on a daily basis.
- Coordinating the start-up of maintenance work, including the issuance and management of various work permits.

The type of team player who fits with the team:
- Diploma in Industrial Maintenance, Electromechanics, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role within a unionized environment.
- Experience in the food manufacturing industry (an asset).
- Technical knowledge of mechanical systems, automation, electrical systems, instrumentation, and controls.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS software (Interal).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English. (English is required to work with colleagues across other Canadian provinces.)
