Mobile Maintenance Sr. Supervisor

Alamos Gold’s Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada’s largest underground gold mines. It is located near the town of Matachewan centrally located between Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay and Sudbury, Ontario. The 2020 completion of a highly automated, lower mine expansion has resulted in Young-Davidson increasing production and generating strong free cash flow. With a large Mineral Reserve base, it will serve as Alamos’ foundation for growth for many years to come. Role Overview
As the Mobile Maintenance Sr. Supervisor, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective execution of underground mobile maintenance activities. Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent, you will provide day-to-day leadership and coordination for the Mobile Maintenance team while supporting the planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance activities.
Working closely with Mobile Maintenance Supervisors, Maintenance Planning, Operations, Supply Chain, and other support departments, you will drive maintenance performance, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will also provide coverage for the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent as required, assuming responsibility for departmental leadership and operational decision-making during those periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Development: Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, mentorship, and support to Mobile Maintenance Supervisors and maintenance crews.
- Maintenance Planning & Scheduling: Collaborate with Maintenance Planning and Supervisors to develop, prioritize, and execute weekly maintenance schedules.
- Operational Coordination: Work closely with Underground Operations to balance equipment availability, planned maintenance requirements, and production objectives.
- Project Support: Coordinate maintenance projects, equipment rebuilds, major repairs, upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Performance & Reliability: Monitor maintenance KPIs, support troubleshooting and root cause investigations, and identify opportunities to improve reliability and equipment availability.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in compliance with site standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
What You Bring to the Table
- Significant experience in mobile equipment maintenance, preferably within an underground mining environment.
- Previous supervisory or senior leadership experience within a maintenance organization.
- Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (421A) certification or equivalent trade/technical background is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of underground mobile mining equipment, maintenance practices, planning, scheduling, and work management processes.
- Demonstrated success coordinating people, equipment, parts, contractors, and resources in a dynamic maintenance environment.
- Experience with maintenance management systems (CMMS/SAP) is considered an asset.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, coaching, and interpersonal abilities.
- Passion for safety, equipment reliability, team development, and continuous improvement.

Working Conditions
- Schedule: 8 days on / 6 days off steady day-shift rotation.

The expected salary range for this role is intended to support transparency and informed decision making. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience and internal equity.
