Your Opportunity:
Under the supervision of the Unit Manager and in collaboration with the Zone Hand and Wrist Assessment Therapist, The Admin Support IV manages complex referrals within Connect Care, supporting patients throughout their journey from referral intake and triage to surgical waitlist placement. The Admin Support IV is responsible for receiving, reviewing, and processing referrals; maintaining referral work queues; coordinating screening clinics and appointments. The position performs advanced clerical, scheduling, data entry, and tracking functions to support timely patient access to Hand and Wrist services. The Admin Support IV communicates appointment details, instructions, and waitlist information to patients in a professional and compassionate manner and manages sensitive conversations with individuals experiencing pain, anxiety, or frustration. The Admin IV acts as a liaison between patients, referring providers, Primary Care Networks (PCNs), surgeons' offices, and interdisciplinary teams to support continuity of care. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate records in Connect Care and referral databases, monitoring referral status and waitlists, preparing statistical reports, and supporting operational and quality improvement initiatives. This position is zone based with responsibilities within the associated zone leadership.

Required Qualifications:
Some post-secondary education.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of unit clerk or referral processing experience is required, ideally within surgical specialties. Demonstrated competency in Office software including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong skills in communication (written and oral), time management and problem solving. Must type at least 50 w.p.m. Accuracy and attention to detail essential. (Skills assessment may be required as part of the hiring process for qualified candidates.)
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Alberta Health Services systems and processes including Netcare/ and Connect Care Referral Work queues. Understanding path to care referral management timestamps.
