Your Opportunity:
Red Deer Regional Hospital is seeking a CNE to implement educational initiatives for Unit 21 - Orthopedics and Urology. These initiatives include orientation, mandatory training, clinical skills, policy and procedure updates and other resources aimed at enhancing clinical proficiency of unit staff. The CNE identifies learning needs related to legislation, quality improvement, strategic planning and organizational requirements. Additionally, the CNE actively participates in providing both direct and indirect patient care to serve as a teaching resource for staff. Serving as a catalyst for change, the CNE supports nursing staff in their professional growth and clinical competence within the patient care environment. The CNE collaborates with leadership and contributes to the development, implementation, and sustainability of process improvement strategies for patient centered care that aligns with organizational goals.
Description:
As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of surgical experience. Proficient computer skills (including PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel and Word). Experience working with Connect Care. Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment. Must be able to provide both direct and indirect patient care as needed. Able to perform the physical demands associated with acute care nursing practice.
