Your Opportunity:
Grande Prairie Regional Hospital (GPRH) is seeking a Pharmacist I who is passionate about clinical practice and direct patient care. As part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team, you will work closely with physicians, nurses, patients, and families to ensure safe, effective, and appropriate medication therapy. GPRH serves Grande Prairie and surrounding communities, offering a collaborative environment where pharmacists play a valued role in patient care. The position supports professional growth through quality improvement activities, mentorship opportunities, and expanded practice development. In addition to the AHS salary, this role is currently eligible for a Remote Retention Allowance of up to $3,000 annually and a Northern Pharmacist Wage Supplement of up to $10,000 annually. It may also qualify for an additional recruitment incentive through the HSAA Rural Capacity Investment Fund, subject to approval. Responsibilities include reviewing and verifying medication orders, checking prepared medications, coordinating access to specialized therapies, documenting clinical interventions, and supporting medication stewardship initiatives. The position also includes order verification responsibilities for GPRH and surrounding rural sites. Description:
As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Current, provisional or transferable registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacist.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Additional Prescribing Authorization is required or must be obtained within one year of hire. Support will be provided to the successful candidate as they work toward meeting this requirement.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous hospital or acute care pharmacy experience is an asset but not required.
