Your Opportunity:
As a Registered Nurse on the Referral, Access, Advice, Placement, Information & Destination (RAAPID) Team, you work with a variety of referring Physicians/ Practitioners and Consultants within a large catchment area and assist with facilitating the timely physician-to-physician consultation and flow of patients into tertiary and regional centers for assessment and or care. The Registered Nurse - RAAPID plays a key role in capacity balancing referrals and providing expert support to practitioners to ensure the safe delivery of care in the right place at the time.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability in organizing and planning care appropriately. Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment. Demonstrated excellent communication skills. Minimum of 5 years of recent Emergency nursing experience. Triage and Trauma experience. Must be able to attend up to 4 weeks of orientation. Must be able to type a minimum of 28 words per minute.
Preferred Qualifications:
6 months of Referral, Access, Advice, Placement, Information & Destination (RAAPID) South experience. Baccalaureate degree in Nursing. Recent experience sophisticated telephony systems preferred. Demonstrated strong prioritization & organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to changing & fluctuating workloads. Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) & Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Responsibilities
