Original job description

Description

Join the Armour Team Today!

Are you passionate about logistics, love solving complex puzzles, and thrive in a fast-paced environment? We're looking for a Load Planner who can turn strategy into action, improve fleet performance, and keep freight moving efficiently across the region.

This is your opportunity to play a key role in a high-impact team - where every decision you make helps reduce costs, improve delivery times, and drive real results for our business and customers.

Location: Dartmouth, NS

Schedule: Sunday to Thursday | 9:00pm to 6:00am

What You’ll Do

Build smart, efficient freight plans that reduce empty miles and boost delivery capacity.
Match the right loads to the right trucks - balancing destinations, deadlines, and fleet availability like a pro.
Keep a pulse on multiple moving parts: driver hours, loading sequences, mileage, service windows - you name it.
Proactively find capacity to move freight and keep things flowing.
Tackle problem shipments with urgency and precision.
Keep stakeholders informed by monitoring shipment status and flagging issues before they become problems.
Act as the go-to contact for both internal teams and external clients - making sure everyone’s in the loop and on the same page.

What You Bring

2+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or a related field.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CITT) or education in logistics, supply chain, or transportation is an asset.
A strong understanding of Atlantic Canada geography is a bonus!

You’ll Excel If You Are

A multitasking master with excellent time management skills.
A self-starter who thrives on making smart, data-driven decisions.
A natural problem-solver who can think fast and negotiate effectively.
Adaptable and calm under pressure - even when priorities shift or timelines tighten.

Tech You Know

Comfortable with Microsoft Office tools - especially Excel and Outlook.
Familiarity with TruckMate or similar TMS software? That’s a plus.

What To Expect

A dynamic, fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
High-energy communication via phone, email, and satellite systems.
The chance to make a real difference in our daily operations and bottom line.

Sound like a role made for you? Let’s talk! Apply now and bring your logistics know-how to a team that values strategy, speed, and smart solutions.
