Aventus Development Corp. is looking for an experienced Project Accountant to support the financial management of our real estate development projects.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands construction accounting, project budgets, costs and commitments, and construction financing draws. You’ll work closely with our Construction and Finance teams, lenders, and cost consultants to keep project financials accurate and draws moving on time.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and coordinate monthly construction financing draws, including Statements of Values (SoVs).
- Work directly with Construction Managers, lenders and cost consultants throughout the draw process.
- Maintain project budgets and monitor actual costs, commitments and forecasted variances.
- Reconcile draw proceeds to vendor payments and investigate discrepancies.
- Review project costs, invoices, purchase orders and change orders for accuracy and appropriate coding.
- Complete month-end accounting for assigned projects, including journal entries, reconciliations, WIP and HST.
- Prepare monthly project cost and commitment reporting.
- Partner with Construction Managers to understand project activity and proactively identify financial issues.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of project accounting experience, ideally in real estate development or construction.
- Hands-on experience preparing construction financing draws.
- Strong understanding of project budgets, construction costs, commitments and month-end accounting.
- Experience working with lenders and cost consultants is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Yardi and/or Acumatica is an asset.
- Strong Excel skills.
- A self-directed approach - you take ownership, ask questions and follow issues through to resolution.
- Strong organization and attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment.

Expected Salary: $80,000–$100,000 per year. The final salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications.
