Role Description The Laborer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Drayton Valley, AB. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with pipeline construction, demolition, and civil work projects such as dirt work and general site maintenance. Responsibilities may involve loading and unloading materials, operating or helping to operate equipment under supervision, cleaning and preparing job sites, and supporting welding and fabrication activities as needed. The Laborer will follow safety protocols, use appropriate personal protective equipment, and work closely with supervisors and crew members to complete projects efficiently and safely. This role requires reliability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various outdoor conditions.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform physical labor including lifting, carrying, bending, and working on your feet for extended periods.
- Previous oilfield experience is an asset
- Comfort working around heavy equipment such as dozers, track hoes, skid steers, and crew trucks; equipment operation experience is an advantage.
- Understanding of workplace safety practices, including use of personal protective equipment and adherence to company safety policies.
- Reliable transportation to the Drayton Valley, AB worksite and willingness to work in varying weather conditions.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a respectful, positive attitude toward colleagues and customers.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant safety or equipment tickets (e.g., WHMIS, H2S CSTS, first aid) are beneficial.
- Ability to follow instructions, learn new tasks quickly, and work with minimal supervision when required.
