What you'll do
Basic Purpose & Key Responsibilities:
The role supports the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of technology-enabled solutions that support the Compliance department's operational, reporting, and information management requirements. Utilizing SharePoint, Microsoft Copilot, Power BI, and Microsoft Power Platform tools, the role develops and maintains digital solutions, analytics, dashboards, and workflows that enhance compliance processes, reporting, collaboration, and decision-making.
Key duties include:
- Support the administration and continuous improvement of the MRS Internal Compliance Program, including associated data, tools, procedures, and reporting processes; identify and recommend enhancements to improve effectiveness and meet stakeholder requirements.
- Coordinate and support compliance-related projects and initiatives by developing project plans, tracking deliverables, monitoring risks and issues, and reporting on project status.
- Prepare presentations, reports, and briefing materials, and facilitate meetings and workshops to support stakeholder engagement, governance discussions, and decision-making.
- Develop and maintain metadata standards, compliance metrics, dashboards, and recurring reports to support governance and operational reporting requirements.
- Provision, maintain, and review system access, including periodic and annual compliance reviews.
- Analyze business processes and recommend improvements related to document management, digitization, automation, reporting, and information management.
- Liaise with Technology and business stakeholders to support business planning activities, system enhancements, and implementation of new tools and solutions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external contacts to gather information, support compliance initiatives, and identify leading practices and improvement opportunities.
- Gather and document business requirements and collaborate with stakeholders to develop and enhance reporting, analytics, and information management solutions.
- Conduct data quality reviews, identify data integrity issues, recommend corrective actions, and prepare reports for management and compliance stakeholders.
What you bring
- Completed a University degree and/or professional designation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 6–9 years of experience in project management, change management, compliance, governance, risk management, or application support within a large, regulated environment.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio.
- Strong proficiency in MS Collaboration and Automation tools (including Teams, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Lists, Power Automate, and Power BI) is considered an asset.
- Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build consensus across all organizational levels.
- Proven ability to deliver results through process optimization, technology improvements, with solid business acumen and change management expertise.
- Experience managing projects, audits, or governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) initiatives, including stakeholder engagement and cross-functional coordination.
- Previous experience working in a unionized environment. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with a ‘can-do’ attitude and strong problem-solving skills. Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma. Working knowledge of IT service management frameworks (ITSM, ITIL) and governance/compliance standards (NERC, NIST, COSO, COBIT).
- Technology savvy with hands-on application implementation experience; certifications in PMP, Prince2, CIA, CISA are considered an asset.
