Join our team as a Collections and Hauling Operator!
Claystone Waste Operations Limited is seeking a safety-focused, adaptable, and reliable Collections and Hauling Operator to join our operations team based out of the Ryley Landfill!
This is a hybrid position ideal for an experienced Class 1 driver who enjoys variety in their work. The successful candidate will support both residential and commercial waste collection operations using Class 3 Pak-Mor trucks, as well as waste transportation services operating Class 1 tractor/trailer units equipped with 53' walking floor trailers.
Position Summary:
The Collections and Hauling Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective collection and transportation of waste materials in support of landfill and waste management operations.
Based out of the Ryley Landfill, the Collection and Hauling Operator performs residential and commercial waste collection, waste transportation, equipment inspections, and related operational duties. The incumbent is expected to demonstrate flexibility, professionalism, and a strong commitment to safety while supporting collection, transportation, and landfill operations.
Key Responsibilities and Activities:
- Safely operate both Class 3 collection vehicles and Class 1 tractor/trailer units.
- Complete residential and commercial waste collection routes.
- Transport waste materials between collection points, transfer sites, and landfill facilities.
- Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections and report maintenance safety concerns.
- Maintain accurate operational, inspection, and safety documentation.
- Comply with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Support landfill and operational activities as required.
- Represent Claystone professionally when interacting with customers, contractors, and the public.
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
- Valid Alberta Class 1 Driver's Licence;
- Experience operating commercial vehicles;
- Strong commitment to workplace safety;
- Ability to work independently and adapt to operational needs;
- Excellent communication and customer services skills;
- Heavy equipment experience is considered an asset.
