Job Title: Human Resources Advisor
Full-time Opportunity | On-site in Elk Valley, BC (Relocation Required) | Salary: $95,000–$112,000/annum | Must hold a valid Canadian Work Visa
Our client, an established mining operator with a significant presence in British Columbia’s Elk Valley, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Advisor for a permanent, full-time opportunity.
Reporting to the Senior Advisor, Human Resources, the HR Advisor will provide day-to-day human resources support and guidance to employees, supervisors, and leaders across a large operational environment. This is a broad, hands-on HR position with exposure to employee relations, performance management, compensation, recruitment, career development, disability management, labour relations, and other areas of the HR function.
The successful candidate will be a well-rounded HR professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment, managing sensitive employee matters, providing practical advice to leaders, and balancing multiple priorities. The role requires strong judgment, communication, and relationship-building skills, along with the ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
The position is based 100% onsite in the Elk Valley, and relocation to the area is required. The role also offers a compressed work schedule with every other Friday off, providing additional flexibility and personal time.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day HR support, advice, and guidance to employees, supervisors, and leaders across the operation
- Advise leaders on employee relations, performance management, and workplace matters
- Support employee relations investigations and assist with the resolution of workplace concerns
- Provide guidance and support related to compensation, recruitment, career development, and other HR programs
- Support labour relations matters and work with leaders on issues arising within the operational environment
- Assist with disability management processes and employee support as required
- Support the delivery and administration of performance management and employee development programs
- Build strong working relationships with employees, supervisors, leaders, and other business stakeholders
- Maintain and support HR systems, processes, programs, and documentation
- Prepare and analyze HR reports, metrics, and other workforce information
- Facilitate HR workshops, training, and information sessions for supervisors and other stakeholders
- Provide practical HR guidance while ensuring organizational policies and processes are applied appropriately
- Handle confidential, sensitive, and employee-related information with a high degree of discretion
- Respond effectively to changing priorities and emerging employee or operational issues
- Support broader HR initiatives and continuous improvement activities as required
- Participate in and adhere to organizational health and safety programs and policies
Qualifications:
- Degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related discipline
- 6+ years of Human Resources experience
- Broad HR generalist experience across areas such as employee relations, performance management, recruitment, compensation, and employee development
- Demonstrated experience providing HR advice and support to employees, supervisors, and leaders
- Experience working within a large operational or industrial environment
- Strong employee relations experience, including the ability to handle sensitive and complex workplace matters
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong judgment, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee information with professionalism and discretion
- Calm, adaptable, and flexible approach with the ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently manage multiple responsibilities
- Experience facilitating HR workshops, training, or presentations is considered an asset
- Experience working within a unionized environment is considered an asset
- Previous experience within mining, natural resources, manufacturing, heavy industry, or another operational environment is considered an asset
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
- Must be willing and able to relocate to the Elk Valley and work onsite

This position is based onsite in a small community in British Columbia’s Elk Valley, surrounded by the Rocky Mountains. Relocation to the Elk Valley is required for the successful candidate.
