We are currently hiring 2 full-time Machined Parts CMM Inspectors for a leading aerospace manufacturing facility in Mississauga. The facility manufactures complex machined and fabricated turbine engine components.
Position Details
- Pay Rate: $35.16/hour, with annual increases as per CBA
- Position: Full-time, unionized
Shifts:
- Day: Approximately 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday to Friday
- Afternoon: Approximately 2:30 PM – 12:30 AM, Monday to Thursday
- Candidates must be flexible and available to work both morning and afternoon shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform CMM inspections and dimensional verification of machined engine components and assemblies.
- Develop and optimize CMM programs using engineering drawings and 3D models.
- Perform visual, dimensional, in-process, final, receiving, and First Article inspections.
- Interpret inspection results and identify/report non-conformances.
- Follow inspection procedures, drawings, blueprints, inspection plans, operation sheets, and work instructions.
- Perform FOD (Foreign Object Debris/Damage) inspections and follow FOD prevention requirements.
- Conduct operator and process audits in support of quality and accreditation systems.
- Inspect incoming materials and outgoing products for quantity, product verification, packaging, and documentation.
- Accurately communicate inspection results verbally and in writing.
- Support knowledge transfer and on-the-job training.
- Use inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, and other required tools.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on CMM inspection experience; 4–5 years of related experience preferred.
- CMM programming experience is required.
- Proficiency with CMM software such as MCOSMOS, PC-DMIS, or CALYPSO.
- Experience with CMM machines such as LK or Mitutoyo is an asset.
- Quality Assurance Certificate and post-secondary education such as a Materials Engineering Diploma or similar.
- Strong knowledge of inspection procedures, practices, and techniques.
- Experience performing visual, dimensional, in-process, and final inspections.
- Experience with FOD inspections and FOD prevention requirements.
- Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9000/14000 standards.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, inspection method sheets, and work instructions.
- Basic mathematical knowledge and strong computer skills.
- Must be able to successfully pass required vision testing.
- Ability to perform Sheet Metal Inspector duties, if required and technically qualified.
