Position Summary:
The Operations Finance Analyst partners with operations and business leaders to provide financial analysis, performance insights, and decision support that drive operational efficiency and profitability. This role is responsible for analyzing operational KPIs, evaluate business performance, identify opportunities to improve profitability and/or operational efficiency.
The successful candidate combines strong financial acumen with operational understanding and is comfortable working cross-functionally with manufacturing, warehousing, procurement, logistics and finance teams. In addition, the success candidate will also translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights.

Key Responsibilities:
Operational Performance Analysis
- Analyze operational metrics including productivity, labor efficiency, inventory management, capacity utilization and service levels.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities impacting operational performance.
- Partner with operations leaders to develop corrective action plans for performance gaps.
- Provide financial insights that support improvements in productivity, service, cost, and profitability.
Cost Management
- Monitor manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, and other operational expenses.
- Support cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyze labor, material, freight, inventory, and overhead costs to enable improved overhead planning.
- Evaluate business cases and ROI for operational improvement projects.
Reporting & Business Partnering
- Prepare monthly management reports, dashboards, and performance reviews.
- Translate complex financial information into clear business insights for non-financial stakeholders.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to improve financial understanding and accountability.
- Support standard costing, cost allocation, and overhead analysis where applicable.
- Support ad hoc analysis and financial operational know how trainings for ops leaders.
- Track cost-saving initiatives and validate realized financial benefits.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CPA or progress toward a professional designation (CPA/CMA/CGA) is considered an asset.
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, Operations Finance, Cost Accounting, or a related analytical role.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, supply chain, distribution and operational environments required
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Proficient in preparing and presenting PowerPoint presentations to senior leadership
Technical Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including financial modeling and data analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, JDE, etc.).
- Experience using Power BI, SQL and other data analytics tools is an asset.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and operational metrics.
