Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role located in Grimsby, ON, encompassing responsibilities of a Sous Chef, Line Cook, and Kitchen Manager. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and cooking menu items to established recipes and standards, assisting with menu development, and ensuring consistent quality and presentation of all dishes. The role involves supervising kitchen operations, coordinating line activities during service, managing food prep schedules, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace in compliance with health and safety regulations. Responsibilities also include monitoring inventory, supporting ordering and waste control, training and mentoring kitchen team members, and collaborating with front-of-house staff to deliver an excellent guest experience. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by restaurant operations is expected.
Qualifications
- Professional culinary skills, including experience as a Sous Chef or Line Cook in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Proven ability to manage kitchen operations, including scheduling, delegation, and service coordination.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and safe kitchen practices.
- Experience with menu execution, food preparation, and maintaining consistent quality and portion control.
- Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to train, support, and motivate team members.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure, multitask, and maintain composure during high-volume service.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to cleanliness and order in the kitchen.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Formal culinary training or certification is an asset, as is experience in Italian or Mediterranean cuisine.
- Eligibility to work in Canada and reliable transportation to the Grimsby, ON location.
