Position Overview
The Business Risk Management Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the Business Risk Management team by sourcing, integrating, and analyzing data to enable robust, insightful reporting and decision-making. This role is responsible for automating data processes and leveraging technology to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and impact of Business Risk Management reporting. The Analyst will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure data-driven insights are delivered in a timely and actionable manner, supporting the continuous improvement of governance frameworks in Client Service Delivery (CSD).
Responsibilities
Data Sourcing, Integration, and Analysis
- Identify, source, and aggregate data from systems and partners as required to support the Business Risk Management team reporting requirements.
- Integrate and reconcile data sets to ensure completeness, consistency, and accuracy for all governance-related reporting.
- In partnership with the Business Risk Management team and CDS Business Unit leaders, analyze data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement, providing actionable insights to the teams.
Reporting and Insights
- Develop, maintain, and enhance recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and presentations for Business Risk Management, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and relevance.
- Translate complex data into clear, concise insights for management and stakeholders, supporting decision-making and risk management.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure reporting approach is consistent and aligned with regulatory, business, and governance requirements.
- Design and maintain business risk management reporting tools and platforms including SharePoint.
Automation and Process Improvement
- Design, implement, and maintain automated data processes using existing and emerging technologies.
- Continuously assess and improve data collection, integration, and reporting processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Stay current with industry best practices and technology trends to recommend and implement innovative solutions.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with the business risk management team, CIBC Mellon and relevant parent organization business units to understand data needs and deliver effective solutions.
- Support the preparation of materials for governance meetings, audits, and regulatory reviews.
- Contribute to special projects and initiatives as required.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Asset Servicing experience across operations, service, product management, risk management or governance.
- Knowledge of one or more products/services within the Asset Servicing industry.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Tableau).
- Experience with data automation technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to synthesize complex data and provide actionable insights.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Curiosity, adaptability and eagerness to learn new technologies and approaches.

Job Specific Competencies
- The salary band for this position ranges between $60,000 - $91,000
- Individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, market conditions, relevant experience, education, training, and internal equity.
