This position works in the Digital Media organizational unit. This is specialised communications and marketing work in developing digital, online and social media communications strategies and messages for a large department. An incumbent develops digital communications and marketing strategies, plans and coordinates campaigns and messages and related online presence; recommends related courses of action to increase followers and engagement; provides guidance and advice to internal clients engaged in digital online and social media communications; and collaborates with colleagues and clients to implement campaigns; applies online tools and metrics to analyze the effectiveness of campaigns, and prepares information, analyses and related recommendations; maintains centralized accounts for social media, online surveys and email marketing and assists divisions with updating information; monitors customer review sites and social media conversations, responds and provides guidance and advice to others on responses. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications includes the completion of a degree in communications, marketing or a related discipline plus considerable related experience or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience. Considerable knowledge of the marketing and communications principles, practices, methods and techniques; considerable knowledge of digital, online and social media practices and related available technology. Sound experience in developing and planning digital marketing and communications strategies and messages. Sound experience in social media, including social listening, social results analysis, executing email marketing and online advertising. Ability to write copy and edit a variety of materials including images and videos, and to research, collect and compile information on a variety of subjects; to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Proficiency in using website content management systems, social media management, email marketing and online survey software. A valid Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia is required.
Schedule: 70 hours bi-weekly; Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM – 4:45 PM (Mutual Agreement between Sunday to Saturday, 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM).
This is a Temporary Full Time position until June 30, 2028.
