Company Description

CMB Excavation & Grading LTD is an excavation company based in Stouffville, Ontario, serving projects across the province. The organization specializes in water and sewer work, earthworks, and storm water management facilities for a variety of commercial, industrial, and municipal clients. Services include sewer and water line installation, stormwater management ponds, and bulk site preparation. The company also provides expertise in large diameter concrete structures, HDPE fuse pipe systems, landfill gas collection systems, and underground infiltration systems. Team members join a growing operation focused on quality workmanship, safety, and reliable service delivery.

Role Description

The Health & Safety Assistant / Office Assistant is a full-time hybrid role based in Canada, with a combination of on-site work at a variety of sites, and some work from home. This position supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of health and safety documentation, including policies, procedures, training records, and incident reports. Day-to-day responsibilities include organizing and updating safety files, assisting with safety audits and inspections, tracking certifications, and communicating safety reminders to field teams. The role also provides general office support such as managing correspondence, assistance with project management & estimation, maintaining project records, and assisting with data entry and document formatting. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with management, site supervisors, and administrative staff to promote a safe work environment and smooth office operations.

The selected candidate is expecting to have their own method of reliable transportation and communication devices (Laptop & cellular phone, with a potential for company provided after a certain period).

CMB is open to new graduates or entry level candidates who wish to get a foot in the door within the excavation field.

Qualifications

Knowledge of COR/ISO certification process. (Preferred)
Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices, regulations, and documentation; ability to support safety audits, training coordination, and incident reporting. (Preferred)
Strong administrative and organizational skills, including document management, data entry, scheduling, and basic record-keeping. (Preferred)
Proficiency with Google office software, digital file organization, and basic report preparation. (Asset)
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare safety notices, emails, and simple training materials.
Attention to detail and accuracy when handling safety records, project documents, and compliance-related information.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment, managing time effectively across office and remote work.
Previous experience in construction, excavation, or an industrial setting, especially in a health and safety or office support capacity, is an asset.
Relevant education or training in occupational health and safety, office administration, or a related field is considered beneficial.

Wage is flexible and is to be discussed based off experience. Interviews will be conducted via Google Meet.
