Our client is a mid-sized, well-established Canadian beverage and food manufacturer with several production facilities across Canada, and a portfolio of branded and private-label products serving customers nationwide. The organization has built a strong reputation for quality, operational excellence, and customer service while maintaining a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and people-oriented culture. The company is now entering a transformational period of growth and is actively evaluating strategic acquisition opportunities that have the potential to significantly increase the scale of the business, expand its manufacturing footprint, and substantially grow its workforce. As a result of this growth strategy, the organization has created the Chief Operating Officer (COO) role to provide executive leadership through this next phase of expansion.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and serving as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Chief Operating Officer will help to lead one of the most significant transformations in the company’s history. The COO will assume responsibility for sales, manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, transportation/logistics, information technology, and commercial operations across a complex multi-site network. A central focus of the mandate will be leading acquisition integration activities, delivering operational and commercial synergies, overseeing an ERP implementation, meeting aggressive growth and profitability targets and ensuring business continuity throughout a period of substantial organizational change. Working closely with the CEO, Board, and executive leadership team, the COO will help design and build the future operating structure, strengthen leadership capabilities, and create the systems, processes, and accountability required to support a significantly larger enterprise.
The ideal candidate is an accomplished executive with demonstrated success leading acquisition integrations, experience working in an ERPcentric organization, and organizational transformations within complex manufacturing environments. Experience within, food manufacturing, or another highly regulated processing industry is strongly preferred. They will bring deep expertise in multi-site operations, supply chain leadership, continuous improvement, and change management, along with a proven ability to translate strategy into measurable execution while maintaining customer service, product quality, and operational reliability. Equally important, they will be a collaborative and data-driven leader who can build teams, develop organizational capability, and foster a culture that balances accountability, urgency, and performance with a strong commitment to people.
This is a compelling opportunity to join a respected Canadian manufacturer during a period of significant growth and transformation. Based in Metro Vancouver, the Chief Operating Officer will play a pivotal role in shaping the future structure, performance, and long-term direction of the organization while helping evaluate and integrate future acquisition opportunities and create a stronger, more scalable national platform.
