Key Areas of Responsibility
Exploration and Geological Interpretation:
- Develop and implement complex structural geology models and geological interpretations.
- Identify new exploration targets and analyze results to refine exploration strategies.
- Generate new targets within projects and identify new areas with mining potential.
Project Planning and Management:
- Develop short- and long-term planning for designing and executing exploration programs.
- Implement and monitor project costs and operational plans, ensuring adherence to budgets and schedules.
- Assess performance against annual objectives and targets, suggesting corrective actions where necessary.
Reporting, Compliance, and Safety:
- Ensure accuracy and completeness in geological reports and technical project reports; communicate findings to leadership.
- Adhere to Conuma Resources' workplace policies and procedures for risk identification, risk assessment, and risk control.
- Maintain high levels of health, safety, and environmental performance by participating in relevant meetings, training, and adherence to policies.
Education, Experience & Qualifications
- Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.)
- Registered GIT working towards their P.Geo. may also be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field.
- At least 2 years of geological operations experience, preferably in coal mining with knowledge of BC mining and exploration legislation.
- Valid Driver's License
- Experience with GIS and mining software.
Technical Competencies & Skills
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer software and applications, including mining-specific programs.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- In-depth understanding of coal structural geology and ability to visualize mine plans in 3D.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments.
- Proven safety record and adherence to safety protocols.
Wage and Benefits
Conuma Resources takes pride in providing industry-competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package that truly values our employees. Specifically for Geologists (P.Geo.), we offer an annual base salary range of $98,000.00 - $118,000.00, along with a variety of bonuses. These bonuses include monthly efficiency bonuses linked to safety and production, quarterly retention bonuses, and a performance bonus tailored to reward your contributions. Our benefits package also includes paid vacation and personal days, 7% RRSP matching, and 100% employer-paid extended health and dental care, among other valuable perks.

- Tumbler Ridge to our Quintette Mine, Wolverine Mine, Brule Mine, and Willow Creek Mine
- Chetwynd to our Brule Mine and Willow Creek Mine
- Dawson Creek to our Willow Creek Mine
- Mackenzie to our Willow Creek Mine
