The Drake Hotel is seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician to join our team of culture makers. You’ll keep our 51-room art-filled hotel, buzzing restaurant spaces and performance venues looking sharp and running smoothly. What You’ll Do
Perfect the Details: Maintain guest rooms and public spaces and property infrastructure to a high standard.
Solve the Puzzle: Troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical and structural systems.
Spot It Before They Do: Run preventative checks to keep our spaces in top shape and minimize guest disruption.

Responsibilities
Maintain guestrooms, public spaces, back-of-house areas, and building systems to Drake standards.
Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs across the property.
Complete general maintenance tasks including painting, drywall repair, caulking, furniture and millwork repairs, and other finishing work.
Troubleshoot and assist with repairs to HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, boilers, appliances, laundry equipment, and other building infrastructure.
Respond promptly to guest and operational maintenance requests, ensuring issues are resolved with care and professionalism.
Support special projects, renovations, and contractor work as needed.
Collaborate with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Events, and Operations teams to ensure spaces are guest-ready and event-ready.
Act as a key responder during building emergencies, including fire alarms, leaks, power outages, and equipment failures.
Assist with vendor and contractor coordination and help maintain maintenance inventories and supplies.
Maintain accurate records, organized workspaces, and safe working practices while supporting Drake's sustainability and environmental initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maintenance.
Knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and general maintenance practices.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Work well with a team and reliable on independent tasks.
Proficient communication, asking questions when uncertain, and providing thorough updates.
Standing, walking, ability to lift 20 kg, work from heights, and handle hazardous materials.
Flexibility to work weekdays, evenings, early morning, holidays, and weekends.
Asset if have valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Salary: $65,000
