Role Description The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the production master schedule to ensure on-time delivery, efficient use of resources, and alignment with customer demand. This full-time, on-site role in Calgary, AB involves coordinating with production, procurement, engineering, and sales teams to balance capacity, material availability, and customer priorities. The Master Scheduler will review forecasts and orders, analyze lead times, and adjust schedules to address constraints or changes in demand. Daily activities include monitoring work-in-progress, updating ERP/MRP systems, resolving scheduling conflicts, and communicating schedule changes to internal stakeholders. The role also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline planning processes and enhance overall operational performance.
Qualifications
- Strong production planning and master scheduling skills, including experience creating and maintaining capacity-based schedules in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and related scheduling tools, with the ability to analyze data, adjust workflows, and generate accurate reports.
- Solid understanding of electronics or discrete manufacturing processes, including PCB assembly, materials management, and lead-time management.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and the capability to manage multiple priorities under time constraints.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams such as production, supply chain, engineering, and customer service.
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; APICS/CPIM or similar certification is an asset.
- Previous experience in master scheduling or production planning in an electronics or high-mix manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, including familiarity with lean manufacturing or process optimization methodologies.
