Job DetailsJob Location: Mississauga, ON L4T 1G3Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $23.50 HourlyEMSL is seeking a Laboratory Analyst II (Microbiology) in Toronto, ON.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Preparation and analysis of Microbiological samples (air, water, and bulk materials) for fungi and bacteria including Legionella
Classical and advanced methods for microbial and bio-aerosol analysis
Generate analytical reports and enter data into the LIMS system
Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed
Perform quality control practices per company Quality Assurance/Quality Control manual
Administrative duties including sample login and data entry, scanning and emailing reports and answering phones
Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager
QualificationsRequirements:
Bachelors Degree in Life Science is required, preferably in Biology or Microbiology with at least 1 Microbiology lab
Authorization to work in the Canada indefinitely and without restriction or sponsorship
2-3 years laboratory experience with preparing and analyzing samples for various microbiological tests.
Ability to work with phase contrast and light microscopes, analytical balances, biological safety cabinets, filtration manifolds, and adhere to sterile techniques and good lab practices
Ability to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis
Ability to work independently, and as a part of a team, self-motivated, adaptability, and a positive attitude
Effective time management organizational skills, and ability to multi- task and prioritize with minimal assistance
Leadership and/or previous management experience a plus
Must be able to work overtime as needed
Available Shift:
Position is full time, Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
