Position Overview:
Are you a technical expert in rotating equipment with deep experience in gas compression and power generation? Do you thrive on solving complex equipment challenges, influencing maintenance strategies, and helping customers maximize reliability and performance?
Join Finning as a Rotating Equipment Specialist (RES) and become the trusted advisor behind the successful delivery of Customer Value Agreements (CVAs). In this highly visible role, you'll combine technical expertise, customer engagement, and strategic planning to help customers reduce total cost of ownership while maximizing uptime and equipment performance.
Job Description:
- Provide technical leadership and support for rotating equipment across customer operations
- Develop maintenance, repair, and component replacement strategies that optimize reliability and lifecycle costs
- Partner with Condition Monitoring teams to validate insights and identify performance improvement opportunities
- Support field teams and supervisors with troubleshooting, repair oversight, and technical guidance
- Serve as the subject matter expert on rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, turbines, expanders, fans, and gearboxes
- Collaborate with sales teams to support CVA growth, customer presentations, and contract development
- Analyze equipment health data and identify opportunities for predictive maintenance and digital solutions
- Build long-term customer relationships focused on reliability, availability, and operational excellence
Qualifications
- Red Seal Journeyperson certification as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright
- 8+ years of experience maintaining and repairing rotating equipment within gas compression, power generation, and/or related industries is an asset
- Strong knowledge of Caterpillar engines and equipment, along with experience supporting other major OEM products
- Experience with gas turbines, compressors, generators, pumps, turbo-expanders, and/or power systems equipment
- Expertise in troubleshooting, root cause failure analysis, and reliability improvement strategies
- Ability to interpret equipment performance data and turn insights into actionable recommendations
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability and willingness to travel to customer and Finning locations as required
