Position Overview:
At Finning Canada, we are seeking two permanent, full-time Technical Service Representatives (TSRs) to support our 797 Remanufacturing team in Red Deer. In this customer-focused role, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor, helping customers maximize equipment reliability, availability, and performance while supporting the repair and maintenance of CAT 797s.
Working closely with customers and internal teams, you will identify opportunities to improve equipment health, provide technical recommendations, and support long-term maintenance planning that drives operational efficiency and reduces downtime.
Job Description:
What You’ll Do:
- Champion continuous improvement by coaching and empowering employees to challenge existing practices, identify better ways of working, solve problems at the source, and lead sustainable improvements in safety, quality, productivity, and the employee experience.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular site visits, equipment reviews, and ongoing communication.
- Conduct technical audits, equipment assessments, and machine health evaluations to identify reliability, maintenance, and performance improvement opportunities.
- Provide technical expertise, troubleshooting support, and repair recommendations to help customers optimize equipment performance and lifecycle costs.
- Collaborate with Parts, Service, and Operations teams to coordinate resources, parts availability, and service support for planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
- Support customers with maintenance planning, component replacement strategies, and repair execution to minimize downtime and achieve operational objectives.
- Escalate critical machine-down situations and coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely resolution and customer support.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, reporting, and machine history records while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and service excellence.
What You’ll Bring:
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification preferred, or equivalent heavy equipment mechanical experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mining, heavy equipment, maintenance, or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of Caterpillar equipment, mining applications, equipment maintenance practices, and reliability principles.
- Proven ability to diagnose equipment issues, analyze machine health data, and develop practical maintenance and repair recommendations.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated and adaptable with a commitment to continuous learning, safety, and delivering exceptional customer support.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with an acceptable driver's abstract.
