Description
The Higgins team in Hamilton is looking for an experienced Foreperson to join our Sealing team.
Lead the day-to-day delivery of chipseal surfacing works, coordinating crews, plant, materials and traffic management to keep each job safe, well organised and on programme. You’ll use your practical surfacing knowledge to respond to changing site conditions, maintain quality standards and give your crew clear direction on site.
- Plan, sequence and coordinate chipseal surfacing activities
- Supervise binder spraying, chip spreading, rolling and traffic management
- Organise labour, plant, subcontractors, suppliers and materials
- Monitor weather, surface conditions and application rates, adjusting plans as needed
- Complete quality checks, surfacing records and site documentation
- Lead pre-starts and toolbox meetings, coach crew members and reinforce safe work practices
About You:
- At least five years' experience in road surfacing, including leading crews on site
- Strong knowledge of chipseal operations, including binder spraying, chip spreading and rolling
- Class 1 driver's licence, with WTR endorsements or the ability to obtain them
- STMS qualification or experience working closely with traffic management operations
- Bitumen, chipseal or other surfacing industry training is advantageous
- Practical problem-solving skills, strong communication and the ability to adapt to changing site conditions and changing priorities
