About the Role
The Linux Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and support of enterprise Linux server environments. This role ensures the stability, performance, security, and availability of mission-critical systems supporting business operations. The administrator works closely with infrastructure, network, database, cybersecurity, and application teams to maintain a reliable and scalable IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Linux systems.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity to ensure reliable operations.
- Manage system updates, security patches, user access, and vulnerability remediation.
- Automate routine tasks using shell scripting and configuration management tools.
- Support backup, recovery, high-availability, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Collaborate with IT teams to resolve infrastructure issues and maintain system security.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in Linux system administration, with hands-on experience supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and/or Rocky Linux environments.
- Experience with Linux server maintenance, troubleshooting, patching, and performance monitoring.
- Knowledge of Bash scripting and automation tools such as Ansible.
- Experience with SAN technologies, storage infrastructure, or other Unix operating systems is an asset.
- Familiarity with virtualization, backup and recovery, and Linux security practices.
