Apply: Geologic Career Centre
Geologic is a trusted data, software, and information solutions company committed to the Energy Industry. Everyday we provide global customers with market-leading data, software, platforms, analytics, education, news, and insights that enable them to make vital decisions that drive growth and efficiency. We deliver critical data-driven intelligence ranging from surface and subsurface well/asset level information & insights to corporate performance benchmarking data and A&D transaction data.
People make us successful. We're driven by a team of individuals whose unique backgrounds and experience allow us to provide the best products and customer service on the market. Together we're transforming the energy intelligence landscape.
The Role
Geologic is building a new cloud-first product, designed from the ground up on modern technology with AI at its core, and we're looking for a Product Manager to own what we build and why. This is a role for someone who has shipped real products with real software development teams, and who can turn messy customer problems into a clear, prioritised plan.
You'll work day to day with the software development team, and closely with our commercial, sales and support teams. Our users are specialists, so a large part of the job is getting deep enough in the domain to hold your own with them. You don't have to arrive knowing the energy industry, but you do have to be the kind of person who learns a new domain quickly and thoroughly.
How you'll spend your day
You'll own the product direction: discovery, roadmap, prioritization, and the calls about what ships now, what waits, and what we deliberately leave out. You’ll be accountable for ensuring the product is the right thing, not just a delivered thing.
Working alongside the Software Development Manager and the software development team every day, you'll help shape the backlog, write requirements that are clear enough to build from, and make trade-offs with the software developers as the work unfolds. You're present for the hundred small decisions that arise mid-build, rather than handing over a document and stepping away.
Time will be spent with customers, as well as the people who sell and support the product; decisions are grounded in evidence rather than opinion. You'll define what success looks like, measure it after launch, and use it to shape the next round of work. You'll also help us launch properly by working with sales, marketing, and support so the product lands well.
Ready to apply? Here's what we're looking for
- A product manager who has genuinely built and shipped products, working day to day with software development teams rather than managing a backlog from a distance
- A track record of taking products from discovery through to launch, and continuing to improve them afterwards
- The ability to turn ambiguous customer problems into a clear, prioritised roadmap, and to say no well
- Comfort working closely with software developers on technical trade-offs, credible with a technical team without needing to be the architect
- Evidence of picking up a new, complex domain quickly: energy or data experience is ideal, but a clear example of going deep and fast somewhere unfamiliar counts for just as much
- Strong communication, with customers, software developers and executives alike
- A data-informed approach: you define the measures of success and then actually use them
Nice to haves:
- Experience in energy or oil and gas, or with data products, analytics platforms, or geospatial and subsurface workflows
- Experience with AI-enabled products, including agentic features, and a practical sense of what works in production
- Experience on a greenfield, zero-to-one product taken through to launch and scaled
- Familiarity with modern delivery practice: agile, continuous discovery, and tools such as Jira
- Experience with enterprise or B2B subscription products and the commercial questions that come with them
