GFL Environmental is seeking a organized, curious, and detail-driven Treasury Operations Analyst to join our team in Vaughan. This role sits at the operational heart of our Treasury function, directly supporting daily cash flows, system connectivity, and banking relationships across North America. You will be responsible for ensuring smooth daily cash management, maintaining accurate system connections, and keeping data flows reliable. Prior treasury experience is not required. We are looking for someone with strong numerical literacy, a steady work ethic, and the curiosity to understand how complex operational processes fit together.

Job Responsibilities
Cash Management
- Daily Liquidity & Cash Positioning: Monitor daily cash positions, perform morning statement pulls, and assist with daily liquidity management across North American entity structures.
- Payment Processing: Facilitate daily payment requests (wires, ACH, cash sweeps) and M&A funding transfers while adhering strictly to bank cut-off times and internal control protocols.
Systems, Data & Bank Connectivity
- Connectivity Monitoring: Perform daily reviews and monitoring connectivity between various banks and Kyriba to ensure seamless data transmission and resolution of interface exceptions.
- Banking Portal Administration: Support online banking user administration, portal configuration, and account setup across various global and regional banking platforms.
- Bank Integration: Coordinate account onboarding, transitional banking arrangements, and system integration for newly acquired entities or operational shifts.
Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Bank Fee Analysis: Perform regular reviews of bank fees and transaction costs to identify savings, streamline billing, and ensure cost efficiency.
- Process Optimization: Assist in identifying automation opportunities within treasury workflows, Kyriba, and downstream ERP interfaces to enhance reporting accuracy.
- Compliance & Audit: Support internal and external audit requests by maintaining organized records and ensuring compliance with corporate treasury policies and control standards.
Reporting & Support
- Financial Reporting: Support month-end and quarter-end reporting to ensure all corporate deadlines are met with high-quality data.
- Ad-Hoc Support: Provide flexible operational support for special projects and day-to-day Treasury needs as they arise.

Operational Excellence & Precision
- Accuracy & Quality Control: Consistently execute payment processing with high precision by verifying supporting documentation and account details prior to initiation.
- Deadline Management: Respect and meet all daily bank cut-off times and internal reporting schedules to maintain smooth, uninterrupted operations.
- Risk & Policy Compliance: Consistently follow internal control protocols, call-back procedures, and security checks to mitigate financial risk and prevent fraud.
Collaboration & Communication
- Stakeholder Coordination: Build reliable, professional working relationships with internal Shared Services teams (AP/AR/Accounting) and external banking partners.
- Proactive Communication: Identify potential processing delays, system exceptions, or bottlenecks early and escalate them promptly before they affect daily cash operations.
Professional Development
- Coachability & Growth: Rapidly absorb feedback, learn GFL’s core banking portals and systems (such as Kyriba), and steadily increase operational independence over time.
- Process Knowledge: Build a clear, end-to-end understanding of GFL’s North American banking structure to handle routine admin and system requests confidently.
Job Requirements
- Education: University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Preferred, but not required,1–3 years of progressive experience in corporate treasury, cash management, or banking operations. (New Graduates Welcome!)
- Technical Skills: Experience in using ERP platforms (Workday), Excel, Google Workspace, and major online banking portals. Working experience of Kyriba (TMS) will be an added advantage.
- Domain Knowledge: Specialized knowledge of bank file reporting standards (BAI2, MT940, ISO 20022), payment methods, and cash forecasting methodologies is a strong plus.
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical thinking, and a collaborative team-oriented mindset.
- Behavioral Competencies: Acute attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Sharp problem-solving skills and an eagerness to drive change.
Interfaces & Stakeholders
- The Treasury Operations Analyst will report directly to the Manager, Treasury Operations and will be part of a small but highly focused professional unit.
- This role will involve regular interaction and partnership with internal departments such as Legal, Tax, AP, AR and GFL’s executive office.
Working Conditions & Travel
- This role is in-office 5 days a week, with the option to occasionally work from home.
- This role does not require travel outside of the GTA.
