Who We Are
At Gibbons Whistler, we’re all about Making People Happy. Since 1979, we have been the backbone of Whistler hospitality, bringing people together through unforgettable experiences.
Everything we do is rooted in our core values: Encourage Trust, Have Fun, Show Kindness, Lead With Purpose, and Commit to Excellence.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Head of Strategic Revenue & Partnerships to build and lead a new relationship-driven revenue engine across the Gibbons portfolio.
This is a senior commercial leadership role for a natural relationship builder, strategic salesperson and commercially minded opportunity creator who knows how to turn conversations into business and business into long-term partnerships.
You’ll identify and develop strategic relationships with corporate clients, hotels, DMCs, incentive houses, conference channels, destination partners and other key buyers, creating new revenue opportunities across the Gibbons portfolio.
The goal isn’t simply to generate sales. It’s to build durable commercial relationships that create incremental cash contribution, repeat business, referrals and opportunities across the G-Wheel.
You’ll personally be involved in opening doors, qualifying opportunities, negotiating deals and closing priority business, while also building the systems, relationships and commercial discipline that allow the capability to grow beyond any one individual.
This is a role for someone who can comfortably move between relationship-building and commercial analysis - someone who can walk into a meeting and win the relationship, then come back and understand exactly what that opportunity means for the P&L.
You’ll work closely with Groups, Group Experience, Operations, Membership, Finance, Revenue and other centralized teams to make sure opportunities are commercially sound, delivered well and turn into the next opportunity.

What You Bring to the Table
- 5+ years of progressive experience in strategic sales, business development, partnerships, group sales, hospitality, tourism, events or a related commercial environment
- A proven track record of personally originating, negotiating and closing business, rather than simply managing an existing sales pipeline
- Experience working with corporate, incentive, conference, group or strategic accounts, ideally involving multiple stakeholders, multi-day programs or multiple business units
- A natural relationship builder who can open doors, build trust with senior decision-makers and turn relationships into repeat business, referrals and account growth
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with an understanding of pricing, contribution, commissions, concessions, delivery costs and the true economics of a deal
- Experience building and managing a disciplined sales pipeline and CRM process, from prospecting and qualification through to closing, handoff, follow-up and renewal
- A strategic thinker who can see opportunities across the Gibbons portfolio, rather than viewing each sale as a standalone transaction
- Strong negotiation skills and the commercial confidence to ask for the business while protecting relationships, pricing and profitability
- Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills, with the ability to bring Operations, Groups, GX, Finance and other teams into opportunities at the right time
- Highly organized and action-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple relationships, opportunities and priorities without losing momentum
- Comfortable using CRM systems, technology, data and AI tools to research prospects, map relationships, improve productivity and make better commercial decisions
- Genuine commitment to Whistler and the Sea-to-Sky community, with the ability to build authentic local and destination relationships
Your Days Will Look Like
- Meeting with a hotel partner, DMC or corporate buyer and figuring out where Gibbons can create value for their next group or program
- Prospecting, making introductions and finding the warm path into your next strategic account
- Building account plans and turning one successful event or booking into the next conversation, referral or portfolio opportunity
- Reviewing the sales pipeline and deciding which opportunities are real, which need attention and what the next best action is for every active deal
- Working with Finance to understand the economics of an opportunity and make sure the business is profitable, not just busy
- Collaborating with Groups, Guest Experience and Operations to turn a commercial opportunity into a clear, well-managed client handoff
- Working with Membership and other Gibbons businesses to identify opportunities to grow the relationship across the G-Wheel
- Connecting with Tourism Whistler, hotels, conference channels, incentive houses and other destination partners to build new referral pathways
- Using market intelligence, the Whistler calendar and available capacity to identify where Gibbons needs demand and where you can create it
- Negotiating proposals and commercial terms, confidently asking for the business and getting deals across the finish line
- Following up after a successful program to capture feedback, identify the next opportunity and keep the relationship moving
- Tracking contribution, conversion, repeat business, referrals and account growth to understand what’s working and where the biggest opportunities are
- Building the systems and relationship intelligence in GIP so that valuable connections, learnings and opportunities become Gibbons knowledge - not just your knowledge
Sound like a fit?
You know how to open doors, build relationships and turn opportunity into revenue.
You’re energized by a great conversation, comfortable asking for the business and motivated by seeing a relationship grow from one booking into something much bigger.
If you’re ready to build something new, put your network to work and help create a commercial engine that can grow across the entire Gibbons portfolio, we want to hear from you.
Build the relationships. Create the opportunities. Grow the G-Wheel.
Come build something that lasts with Gibbons Whistler.
