The Echocardiography Technologist performs Echocardiograms on both inpatients and outpatients. Duties include: performing M-mode, 2-D, Doppler and color flow echocardiograms in accordance with hospital procedure, including inserting IVs and performing Enhanced studies ; interpreting echocardiograms and documenting pathology; assisting physicians with trans esophageal echocardiograms; performing dobutamine stress echocardiography and recumbent bike stress echocardiography tests; writing preliminary reports for cardiologists interpreting echocardiograms; restocking and cleaning of workspace, providing patient care within scope and other duties as may be assigned.
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
- Successful completion of an accredited Echocardiography program
- Basic knowledge of ECG interpretation
- Membership with ARDMS or Sonography Canada an asset
- One year of relevant echocardiography experience
- IV certification considered an asset
- Additional relevant certification considered an asset
- Current BCLS
