Shipping/Receiving Team Leader
HCR Permanent Search is working with a leading automotive manufacturing supplier in Brampton, Ontario. They are searching for a Shipping/Receiving Team Leader to provide leadership within the warehouse and shipping department while ensuring on-time customer deliveries, maintaining safety standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for an experienced shipping professional with strong leadership skills, forklift experience, and a background in high-volume manufacturing environments.
Work Setting: Onsite
Location: Brampton, ON
Work Type: Permanent
Shift: Days (7:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum completion of Grade 12 diploma.
- Minimum 3 years of practical experience operating a forklift in a shipping/receiving environment.
- Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated leadership experience supervising or coordinating employees.
- Valid Forklift Operator License.

Preferred Skills
- Automotive manufacturing experience.
- Experience working within IATF 16949 quality standards.
- Knowledge of FIFO inventory control methodologies.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement and 5S initiatives.
- Knowledge of CTPAT/PIP compliance requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and support to shipping and receiving personnel.
- Organize warehouse operations and maintain orderly storage locations for materials and finished goods.
- Monitor shipping activities to ensure on-time customer deliveries and achievement of departmental performance targets.
- Submit employee hours and support accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Conduct formal and informal workplace inspections while maintaining 5S standards.
- Enforce all safety procedures and address unsafe acts or conditions as required.
- Supervise department employees, including performance management, training, and development activities.
- Allocate labour resources based on operational requirements and employee competencies.
- Utilize corrective action and progressive discipline processes when required.
- Coordinate shipper training programs, employee rotation schedules, and record maintenance.
- Oversee shipping documentation and ensure accuracy and compliance with customer requirements.
- Monitor and manage FIFO inventory practices.
- Ensure forklift operators follow all safe operating procedures and company policies.
- Lead daily pre-shift and post-shift communication meetings.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
- Maintain compliance with quality systems, IATF 16949 standards, environmental policies, and company procedures.
- Report workplace incidents, accidents, and unsafe conditions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
