Role and Facility Information
The Namgis First Nation is looking for a physician to join its Health team. The physician will work in clinic with 2 physicians and other health team members including 2 community care nurses, 2 mental health workers, addictions counselors and a social worker. There are also visiting occupational therapists, social work, mental health, intensive case managers and a midwife. Additionally, visiting specialists include Pediatrics, Rheumatology, Ophthalmology and Psychiatry. The position requires ER coverage, inpatient hospital care and long-term patient care. Both the clinic and hospital are located on the Namgis First Nations reserve. The position is salaried and housing can be provided.
The Namgis are a forward-thinking people who are deeply invested in the health care of their community and, by extension, the health care of Alert Bay and surrounding peoples.

May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including: Retention Premium 23.94% Retention Flat Fee $27,558 Relocation Funding Available $up to $15,000 Recruitment Incentive $20,000 Other Benefits/Incentives May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including: Rural CME starting at $1,320/annum for 2 years or less in community, increasing to a maximum of $5,720/annum after 4 years. Rural GP Locum Program provides $900/day to locum physician with 43 days/annum locum coverage to resident physician.
