Role and Facility Information
The Island Health Division of Rehabilitation Medicine has an opening for a general physiatrist to join six others in providing a consultative service at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital and surrounding areas. Candidates with expertise and interest in the rehabilitation of individuals with neurological diseases, post-traumatic impairments and amputations rehabilitation in hospital based practice and out patients settings are encouraged to apply. The position is based at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital which has a 25-bed inpatient intensive rehabilitation unit in addition to slow stream and transitional rehabilitation units.
This is a general program providing the full scope of rehabilitation services.
Full range of medical, surgical, and psychiatric specialists on-site as well as diagnostic services including x-rays, nuclear medicine, sonography, CT, and MRI. Access to epidural and facet injection services. The Physiatrist(s) provide a consulting and directive care service without night call.
