Our public sector client is seeking a Senior Purchasing Specialist for a short-term assignment to support complex procurement activities, purchasing processes, and supplier and contract management.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate procurement activities for a range of complex goods and services.
- Review business requirements and determine appropriate procurement strategies and processes.
- Prepare specifications and manage tenders, quotations, and proposal processes, including evaluation and award.
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders regarding scope, pricing, terms, and conditions.
- Prepare and execute contracts, purchase orders, change orders, and related procurement documentation.
- Support contract administration, supplier performance, compliance, and procurement-related issue resolution.
- Monitor procurement trends, regulatory requirements, and market developments.
Qualifications
- University degree with relevant procurement experience.
- Working toward or in the process of obtaining a recognized professional purchasing designation.
- Strong knowledge of procurement practices, principles, policies, and procedures.
- Experience with tenders, proposals, quotations, contract administration, and supplier negotiations.
- Knowledge of contract law, risk management, and public-sector procurement requirements.
- Strong judgment, organization, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
