Project Manager – Industrial Refrigeration

Position Summary
Prairie HVAC/R and Electrical Services, part of the IR Pros family of companies, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of industrial refrigeration projects. The Project Manager will ensure the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration equipment, maintain compliance with safety regulations, and provide technical expertise to clients.
This role is responsible for coordinating and communicating with team members, clients, and vendors throughout the full project lifecycle - from planning through completion.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, execute, and manage all aspects of industrial refrigeration projects
Develop project scopes, budgets, timelines, and resource requirements
Conduct risk assessments and develop risk mitigation plans
Communicate project goals, objectives, and progress to team members, clients, and vendors
Coordinate and schedule project activities, including equipment installation, maintenance, and repair
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies
Manage project budgets, expenses, and invoicing
Maintain accurate records of project activities, including progress reports, schedules, and budgets
Provide technical expertise to clients and recommend upgrades or modifications to improve system efficiency
Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with clients and management
Participate in training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
Qualifications: Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, or a related field preferred
5+ years of experience in project management of industrial refrigeration systems
Knowledge of complex ammonia refrigeration systems and safety regulations
Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Preferred Experience
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
Ammonia (NH₃) or CO₂ refrigeration systems
Industrial refrigeration construction and installation projects
PSM / RMP-regulated facilities
System startup and commissioning
Managing multiple concurrent projects and crews
