Role Description The Medical Office Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Calgary,AB . In this position, the team member will greet clients, manage phone calls, and ensure a welcoming, professional front-office environment. Daily responsibilities include appointment scheduling, updating client records, verifying insurance information, and supporting clinicians with administrative tasks. The role also involves coordinating referrals, handling incoming and outgoing correspondence, and maintaining organized filing and documentation systems. The Medical Office Assistant collaborates closely with clinical and administrative staff to support efficient clinic operations and a high standard of client care.
Qualifications
- Strong client service and communication abilities, including professional phone etiquette and a courteous, inclusive approach to interacting with diverse populations.
- Proficiency in appointment scheduling and coordination, including managing calendars, confirming bookings, and handling follow-up reminders.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and comfort with electronic medical records or clinic management systems.
- Experience with insurance verification and basic billing processes, ensuring accurate information collection and documentation.
- Administrative assistance skills, including data entry, document preparation, filing, and maintaining organized office systems.
