Rate: $44-$47 Per Hour
Insight Global is seeking a qualified Senior Mechanical Designer to join a leading automation company based in Waterloo, Ontario. In this role, you will lead the design and development of custom automated machinery, collaborating with project managers, programmers, customers, and manufacturing teams to create innovative, efficient, and cost-effective solutions. Responsibilities include developing machine concepts and detailed CAD designs, selecting and integrating mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and sensing components, generating technical documentation and bills of materials, supporting procurement activities, and providing hands-on technical guidance throughout machine assembly, commissioning, and debugging. This position plays a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with customer expectations while contributing to the successful execution of complex automation systems.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 8-10+ years of experience in mechanical design or equivalent - majority in an automation environment
- Extensive SolidWorks experience
- Experience with pneumatics or vision systems
- Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering
- Valid passport and driver's license
