Insight Global is seeking a skilled Welder to join the manufacturing team at Modern Elevator in Burlington, Ontario. This individual will be responsible for performing structural welding and fabrication work on elevator components and assemblies while ensuring all work meets quality, safety, and production standards.
The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing background, experience reading technical drawings and blueprints, and the ability to perform high-quality structural welds in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural welding on elevator components, frames, and assemblies.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions to complete fabrication projects accurately.
- Set up and operate welding equipment in accordance with company and CWB standards.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
- Work closely with fabrication and assembly teams to support production schedules.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment while following all health and safety procedures.
- Assist with fitting, positioning, and assembling metal components prior to welding.
- Identify and resolve welding or fabrication issues to maintain production efficiency.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Valid CWB Certification (e.g., Flat 1GF, Horizontal 2G)
- 3-5 years of welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Proven experience performing industrial or structural welding.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and fabrication specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing or industrial fabrication experience.
- Experience working with structural steel or heavy-gauge metal.
- Knowledge of fabrication processes and metal assembly techniques.
- Experience within elevator manufacturing, transportation, automotive, or related industries.
Pay Transparency:
The expected hour rate for this position falls between $34 to $38/hr
