Field Service Specialist

We're excited to share an opportunity for an existing vacancy as a Field Service Specialist with an established custom automation company!

This position is ideal for an experienced Technician with a strong background in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, machine assembly, equipment installation/commissioning, and servicing automated machinery at customer sites.

Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Install, commission, and troubleshoot custom automated machinery and equipment at customer facilities.
• Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and equipment upgrades to ensure optimal machine performance and reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on automated equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation to identify and resolve equipment issues.
• Provide technical support and training to customers on equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Work closely with Engineering, Assembly, and Controls teams to resolve technical issues and improve machine functionality.
• Travel to customer sites to perform service calls, installations, and equipment commissioning.
• Prepare detailed service reports documenting repairs, maintenance activities, parts used, and recommendations.

Mandatory Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in a Field Service Technician, Maintenance Technician, or similar role within an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working with automated machinery, custom equipment, or industrial automation systems.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems is an asset.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting and industrial controls is an asset.
• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites up to 50% of the time
• Available to work flexible hours and occasional overtime based on service requirements.

Salary Range: $40/hr to $45/hr + benefits
