Job Description
We’re recruiting for an existing vacancy as a 433A Industrial Mechanic Millwright to join the maintenance team. This position will focus on preventative maintenance, breakdown response, equipment reliability and continuous improvement within a highly automated production environment.
The maintenance team works in a hands-on, collaborative environment, with Millwrights and Electricians working together across mechanical, electrical and controls-related issues rather than operating within strictly separated trades.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain high-speed packaging, processing and automated production equipment
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and diagnose mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic issues
- Complete preventative and predictive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime
- Troubleshoot conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings and other production equipment
- Support equipment installations, modifications, upgrades and continuous improvement projects
- Work alongside Electricians and other maintenance team members to troubleshoot equipment issues across multiple systems
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics and equipment documentation
- Complete maintenance documentation and communicate equipment concerns to the appropriate team members
Qualifications
- 433A Industrial Mechanic Millwright Certificate of Qualification
- 3+ years of hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting experience within an automated manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and breakdown response experience
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced production environment
- Food, beverage, packaging or other high-speed manufacturing experience is considered an asset
- Exposure to electrical troubleshooting, PLCs and automated controls is considered an asset
- Equipment installation, machine build or commissioning experience is considered an asset
Location: Cambridge, Ontario
Shift: 12-Hour Continental Rotation OR 8-Hour 3-Shift Rotation
Salary/Rate: $48–$54/hour + shift premiums, bonus opportunities, RRSP and benefits
