We're excited to share an opportunity for an existing vacancy as a Licensed Millwright with an established food manufacturer in the London, Ontario area. About the Company:
This is a stable, growing food manufacturing operation that is continuing to invest in its facility and maintenance team. Several long-term tradespeople are approaching retirement over the next 12–18 months, and the company is hiring ahead to give incoming Millwrights time to learn the equipment and facility alongside experienced team members.
The maintenance culture is collaborative and relatively laid back, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, sharing knowledge and working through breakdowns together. For someone looking to continue developing beyond their Millwright licence, there is also an opportunity to pursue a second trade certification, along with longer-term potential to progress into Lead responsibilities.
Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Breakdown and preventative maintenance of automated production and packaging equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes and other mechanical equipment
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Complete equipment repairs, component replacements and modifications as required
- Support preventative maintenance, equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
- Work collaboratively with other skilled trades to troubleshoot equipment breakdowns
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades and maintenance projects
Mandatory Requirements:
- Valid Ontario 433A Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certificate of Qualification
- Previous breakdown maintenance experience in an automated manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting experience
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and automated production equipment
- Ability to work a continental rotation
- Food, beverage, packaging or similar high-volume manufacturing experience is an asset
