This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Assistant Director, Quebec Student Loans (Bilingual) based in Canada.
This role plays a key part in managing and delivering critical operations related to Quebec student loans. You will help ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions, service requests, and administrative activities in line with established service standards. The position involves working closely with internal and external stakeholders to resolve inquiries, complex cases, and escalations. You will combine operational expertise, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills. The role also provides opportunities to support strategic initiatives, process changes, system implementations, and operational enhancements. Strong attention to risk management, regulatory requirements, documentation, and operational integrity will be essential. The position is primarily remote within Quebec, with an expected presence at the Montreal office twice per month.

Accountabilities

Execute critical daily loan operations, including loan administration, record maintenance, transactions, payments, service requests, and related administrative activities while meeting applicable service-level agreements.

Enter, review, validate, and reconcile loan information and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper recordkeeping.

Respond to routine and non-routine inquiries from customers and stakeholders, including making outbound calls when complex cases or escalations require intervention or follow-up.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues, address discrepancies, and deliver an effective customer and employee experience.

Advise and provide guidance to assigned business or operating groups on the implementation of solutions.

Support strategic initiatives and operational changes in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Monitor performance, follow up on operational issues, and take appropriate action to address problems or variances.

Contribute to the design, testing, implementation, and continuous improvement of processes and systems.

Integrate information from multiple sources to improve process efficiency, analysis, reporting, and decision-making.

Act as a problem-solving resource for less experienced team members when required.

Provide input into the development of tools and training designed to support operational results.

Maintain an understanding of applicable regulatory requirements and operational risks, ensuring appropriate measures are taken to protect operational integrity.

Apply sound risk-management principles when making decisions, in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and approved risk parameters.

Work independently, exercise sound judgment, identify root causes, and propose practical solutions to operational challenges.

Requirements

3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience combined with a post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with relevant technology systems and tools.

In-depth understanding of key products, services, processes, and controls within a business or operational environment.

Strong knowledge of industry-related risks and regulatory requirements.

Fluency in both French and English, as the role provides support to customers and team members within and/or outside Quebec.

Annual salary range of CAD $45,000–$100,000, depending on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications.
