About This Job
Everclean is looking for a Day Porter to join our team in Burnaby, BC. This is a hands-on cleaning job. You will keep an office building clean, safe, and welcoming every day. If you are reliable, work hard, and take pride in a clean environment, we want to hear from you.
Location: Burnaby, BC
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Hours: 6 hours per day (includes a 30-minute unpaid break)
Pay: $18.75 per hour
What You Will Do
At the Start of Your Shift (Morning)
-
Check all washrooms. Make sure they are clean and have enough supplies.

Walk through common areas, hallways, and lobbies and look for any spills or problems.
-
Make sure furniture, signs, and garbage bins are in the right place.
-
Clean the building entrance doors (glass).
-
Clean the garbage and recycling holding areas.
-
Vacuum and clean office common areas and the administration office.
During Your Shift (Main Duties)
-
Clean and polish entrance doors, door frames, windows, and windowsills - inside and outside.
-
Sweep and mop lobby and entrance floors. Use "Caution – Wet Floor" signs when the floor is wet.
-
Vacuum entrance mats and clean lobbies and hallways regularly throughout the day.
-
Empty and clean garbage and recycling bins in offices, common areas, and outside the building.
-
Pick up litter inside and around building entrances and walkways.
-
Clean and empty outdoor ashtrays.
-
Check washrooms regularly throughout the day (at least every 2 hours). Make sure they are clean and fully stocked with soap, paper towels, and tissue paper.

Clean and disinfect toilets, urinals, sinks, counters, and mirrors.
-
Sweep and mop office hallways, stairwells, and common area floors.
-
Clean up any water or spills right away. Always use "Caution – Wet Floor" signs.

Dust and wipe down desks (unoccupied), tables, chairs, counters, and reception areas as required.

Wipe down walls, doors, light switches, elevator buttons, and handrails.
-
Clean kitchen and break room areas including countertops, sinks, appliance exteriors, and tables.

Spot clean carpeted areas as needed.
-
Dust vents, ledges, baseboards, and other surfaces on a regular rotation.

Remove graffiti right away and report it to your supervisor.

Sort waste and recycling correctly following the building's waste program.

Fill out your daily Porter Risk Management Log and washroom check sheets.
-
Report any broken items, safety hazards, or maintenance issues to your supervisor right away.

Respond quickly when office staff ask for help with supplies or cleaning needs.
At the End of Your Shift (Closing)

Make sure all garbage and recycling is properly contained and removed.
-
Change garbage bags in all indoor bins throughout the building.
-
Wipe and clean all washroom walls and surfaces.
-
Make sure washrooms are fully stocked before you leave.
-
Clean all toilet seats from top to bottom.
-
Check dryer vents and ceilings for dust or spots.
-
Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are stored safely and in an orderly fashion.
Other Tasks
-
Help with office setups, meeting room arrangements, or furniture moves when asked.
-
Assist with outdoor cleaning (ice, snow, sand, debris) in winter months.

Follow all emergency and safety procedures.

Complete any reasonable tasks assigned by your supervisor.
What We Are Looking For
You do not need previous cleaning experience - we will train you. What matters most is that you are dependable and take your work seriously.
You should be able to:

Use cleaning equipment and products safely.

Stand and walk for most of your shift.

Follow instructions given verbally or in writing in English.

Come to work consistently and on time.

Understand and follow company policies and procedures.

Perform all cleaning tasks described above.
