The Opportunity
As a Physiotherapist at KidsAbility, you will play a key role in supporting children and youth with disabilities to achieve their mobility, functional, and participation goals. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, you will provide assessment, intervention, consultation, and education services for children with a variety of developmental, neurological, and musculoskeletal needs. Partnering closely with families, caregivers, and community partners, you will develop individualized therapy plans that promote meaningful outcomes, independence, and participation in everyday life.
Your Impact
In this role, you will:
- Provide assessment, intervention, consultation, and education services for children from birth to school entry with developmental, neurological, musculoskeletal, and physical challenges.
- Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate individualized physiotherapy programs to support functional outcomes and participation goals.
- Support children and families through prevention, education, consultation, early identification, and management of disabilities.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, educators, community partners, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated, family-centred care.
- Provide education, consultation, and recommendations that promote optimal physical development and maximize participation in everyday activities.
- Contribute to program development, service excellence, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Uphold the professional standards, ethical guidelines, and practice requirements of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
Your Experience and Expertise
To qualify, you must have a Master's degree in Physiotherapy (or equivalent) and be registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO). In addition, you will have:
- Experience assessing and treating children with a variety of developmental, physical, and communication-related needs.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams and build positive relationships with clients, families, colleagues, and community partners.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills, with a commitment to family-centred care and continuous professional development.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and other web-based systems.
The following skills and experience will be considered strong assets:
- Experience in a pediatric rehabilitation or pediatric clinical setting.
- Experience prescribing equipment through the Assistive Devices Program (ADP).
- Excellent time management, problem-solving, and caseload management skills.
- Experience using AlayaCare or other electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Standard First Aid and CPR certification.
As a multi-site organization, a valid Ontario driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle are required to support work across multiple locations as needed.
