Kostklip Manufacturing is seeking a Production Planning Coordinator to support our manufacturing plant by coordinating production schedules, inventory availability, procurement activities, and outbound shipping operations.
About the Role
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the role primarily involves overseeing the production schedule and coordinating it with the activities before (raw materials, inputs) and after (shipping). This role augments and enhances the Production Scheduler role and provides a liaison across departments to affect the most efficient production plan possible. As the key contact person between Production, Inventory, Procurement, Shipping, and Sales, this role ensures that materials, information and workflows move efficiently through the plant. This role can provide backup coverage for the Production Scheduler.
Responsibilities
- Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to:
Communication and Liasson
- Maintain clear, proactive communication between shipping, production, procurement, and inventory personnel to prevent delays.
- Main point of contact for the Sales team for order updates.
- Communicate schedule changes, risks, and constraints clearly to stakeholders as and when happens.
Planning and Scheduling
- Building off the production schedule, provides the overall plan for effective and timely execution of the production schedule all the way from raw material availability through to the shipping plan.
- Review next‑day production plans and create a plan with the Inventory Controller to issue materials efficiently.
- Support the scheduler to achieve the release order timeframe during bulk orders entry.
- Identify shortages of non‑inventory or critical project‑specific materials and promptly communicate to stakeholders.
- Coordinate with the Shipping teams to ensure that all orders are shipped accurately and on time, with up-to-date records reflecting shipment status.
- Manage expedited orders and requests, ensuring minimal disruption to the schedule.
- Coordinate inbound deliveries of materials and components to align with the Production Schedule.
- Forecast production capacity based on S&OP meeting and predict the under-utilization / over-capacity situations well in advance.
- Plan production capacity, raw materials requirements, shipping constraint based on the forecast from the S&OP meeting.
- Coordinate between production, toolshop and engineering department to schedule new products testing while ensuring all necessary details required to perform the test.
- Coordinate pre and post-test meetings to understand the test outcome and plan the next course of action.
Reporting, Measuring, and Improving
- Work with supervisors and the Operations Coordinator to maintain and refine standard rates of production and verify the recommended pack size for new products.
- Drive continuous improvement in the flow from production to shipping as well as within the scheduling role.
- Report on adherence to the production plan, shipping deadlines and make recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications
- Key qualifications:
- Graduate diploma in Supply chain Management or related field required.
- Minimum of 5-year experience in a production scheduling or related role.
- Detail-oriented with proactive approach.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills as this role requires bringing multiple departments together.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (experience with Infor Visual will be highly recommended).
Pay: CA$58,000.00 - CA$66,000.00 per year
This position collaborates closely with all departments within organization.
