Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Junior Accountant role based in Georgetown, ON. The Junior Accountant will assist with day-to-day accounting activities, including processing accounts payable and receivable, recording journal entries, and supporting month-end and year-end closing procedures. The role involves maintaining accurate ledgers, reconciling bank and credit card statements, and helping prepare financial reports for management across multiple divisions. The Junior Accountant will also support invoice tracking, expense monitoring, and documentation for audits and compliance, while collaborating with operations and finance teams to ensure timely, accurate financial data.
Qualifications
- Strong foundational accounting knowledge, including double-entry bookkeeping, ledger management, and basic financial reporting.
- Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office applications (especially Excel for spreadsheets, reconciliations, and data analysis).
- Attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with finance, operations, and management teams.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with integrity and professionalism.
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; progress toward or interest in professional accounting designation is an asset.
- Experience or coursework related to transportation, logistics, or multi-entity businesses is considered an advantage.
